I say, it’s time to move on.
Doubt is a malicious seductress. She insults and demeans until we believe the worst about ourselves; that we aren’t good enough now, nor will we ever be, to live our dreams and carve our destinies. She laughs at our dreams, and gives us too many reasons to quit. Her siren song is an unrelenting howl, tempting us to move on. And in a way, maybe she’s right.
Maybe it is time to move on.
To you dreamers and all those with big plans, it’s time to move on…and get busy. Now is your turn to inspire us. It is your moment to leverage your potential, and take a step toward embracing your dream. Do something now that will bring you closer to the dream if you pull it off. I know it’s risky, but it’s time to move on.
To you hesitant and procrastinating ones, it’s time to move on…and find out who you really are. You’re selling yourself short by hiding in the shadows. Now is the time to believe in yourself. Your art, your craft, your calling; it is beautiful and necessary. But we will never see it or experience it unless you decide that it’s time to move on. You can do this. You must do this. I know it’s scary, but it’s time to move on.
To the failures and those who are close to giving up, it’s time to move on…and find your voice. Now is the time to decide that your failure, your rejection, or your mistake was not the last that we will hear from you. Maybe it was the wrong time, the wrong audience, the wrong gig, the wrong venue, the wrong market, the wrong …., well, you get the point. It’s your moment now to let your failure provoke you to become better at what you try. I know it’s difficult, but it’s time to move on.
To you naysayers and critical ones, it’s time to move on…to something else. Your arguments, your reasons, and your negativity hold no weight here. But that doesn’t mean you have to go. Maybe it’s time for you to consider that we are capable of bringing forth what we dream. Perhaps it’s time for you to drop the bullhorn and join us, the dreamers. I know it seems impossible, but it’s time to move on.
So maybe in this instance, doubt is right. Maybe, just maybe, it is time to move on. Leave a comment and let us know: What’s your next step?
