Stalling sucks.

The past few weeks have knocked me off my writing flow.  I’ve blogged sporadically, and haven’t really touched the book manuscript that I’m working on.  Life became busy and a bit dull, and my creativity and schedule followed suit.

But I’m learning that, sometimes, stalling is necessary.

I define myself too much by what I create.  I allow myself too easily to get caught up in busy schedules and self-imposed deadlines;  to scurry about with a full time job, a demanding writing schedule, and a few freelance projects here and there.  Amid the busyness, it’s easy to forget to be alive.

So, maybe we need to learn how to stall well.

Embrace a few moments of rest.  The world won’t cave in and people won’t grow disinterested in what you have to say or show because you took a few days off.  Breathe, relax, and be inspired by things you’re normally too busy to notice.

And then, get busy.  We’re waiting for you to amaze us.
