Get out from behind the excuses.

You are unparalleled.  You’ve been hand-crafted from God;  not mass-produced on some assembly line.  You’re unique, rare, one-of-a-kind;  a rare painting with no equal.  Your life has been bestowed with specific purposes.  Your little life has the potential to be an extraordinary story of God’s creativity and faithfulness.

You’re smarter than you give yourself credit for, and your future holds more potential than you’ve ever dared consider.  Those dreams living in your heart are not there by accident, nor are they meant to stay dormant.  They are meant to be lived out and experienced.

Yes, failure will undoubtably find you.  Yes, obstacles will definitively surface.  Yes, things will seem impossible at times.  Yes, chasing your dreams and living adventurously is scary and unpredictable and intimidating.  .  Yes, there will be more struggles than you predict.

But you’re more resilient than you think;  able to bounce back and move forward more quickly than you know.  Somewhere inside you there is a quiet, unapologetic resolve.  It will surface when called upon.  It will not allow you to give up.

So, it’s time to get out from behind the excuses.

It’s funny how easy it is to talk about our dreams without actually doing anything to advance them.  We too easily hide behind excuses and fear.  Life isn’t safe, and it sure isn’t practical.  Why do we think that living our dreams should be?  It’s far better to be emboldened by failure than paralyzed by fear.

I needed to write these words tonight because I needed to hear them.  Maybe you did, too.  Keep chasing, dreamer.  Chin up, for better things are ahead.
